SALVATION ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE PRIVATE SCHOOL
TUTORING SERVICES
MISSION
As a learner centered tutoring institution, our tutors receive continuous training and they put a lot of effort in preparing lessons that will accommodate a heterogenous class of
pupils. We acknowledge and appreciate learner differences, and adapt our methodologies
and pedagogical styles to support each learner by using resources that
accommodate learners who learn best through different learning styles (verbal,
visual, auditory, kinesthetic, social, solitary and logical styles). We thus
believe in the inclusivity paradigm.VISION
Our vision is for us to aqcuire growth and excellence in our academics through GOD's inestimable help.
OBJECTIVES
To offer daily homework assistance and tutorship for the following
disciplines: Mathematics, English, Afrikaans, Sesotho and Zulu for Grade 1 to 7 learnersCORE PILLARS AND SERVICES
CHRISTAIN VALUES
While we aim at leading our learners to academic growth and excellence, we instill christian values in them, we teach them to acknowledge GOD as the source of their help, as the One who enables them to triumph over every obstacle in the race of life, we teach them love, respect, kindness, faithfulness and compassion. We hope to shape them into good citizens and responsible individuals. We also teach them how to pray and motivate them to remain positive and to excel in everything they put their hands on.
DAILY HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE
Do you arrive home late and tired from work with limited to no strength to deal with your child(ren)'s loads of homework? Does your child live with his/her grandparent’s who can’t assist them with and monitor their homework? Do you feel like you don’t have the necessary patience to help them with their homework efficiently? Do you find some of their work challenging for you to understand? Whatever question you relate with, trust SAEPS to handle that pressure for you. Our classes have been structured in a manner that prioritizes homework assistance to ease you off the load.
SMART AND FUN LEARNING
SAEPS understands millennial learners and how they thrive better through interactive, experimental and collaborative learning. We understand their need for a class that incorporates technology, we move with the times in order to relate with them and hence we strive at transitioning from traditional teaching techniques to new age smart learning education. The technological advanced as well as other physical teaching resources we use to teach are a boon in meeting the needs of our millennial learners and they help us reach our goals and live out our vision.
SAEPS BEGINNER READER PROGRAM (BRP)
Our goal is to produce independent learners who will not constantly be in need of teacher support for them to be able to successfully execute academic tasks. Our SAEPS Beginner Reader Program exists to solve the challenge of having learners who are unable to solve academic problems due to not being able to read and comprehend instructions on texts. We passionately and patiently use resources that we have tested and have witnessed their efficiency in helping learners whose parents had deemed as 'slow' to transition from poor readers to confident readers. The program is compulsory to be enrolled by learners in Grade 1 and 2- other Grades enroll by need and prescription.
SUBJECTS
Our classes are organized according to Grades and subjects. Learners are required to enrol for three subjects which are:
1. Mathematics, 2. English and 3. Afrikaans/Sesotho/IsiZulu. Every subject has its day hence days are allocated to learners according to their grades and subject of the day. Grade 1 to 2 learners attend their classes 4 days a week, while the rest of the learners attend for three days a week except those enrolled for the SAEPS BRP (they attend for 4 days a week). We also accommodate learners who come for classes on days not allocated to them. The difference in attendance calls for different payment agreements. If it happens that a learner has homework on a day not allocated to him/her- they may attend to receive assistance with their homework and when they leave immediately after completing their homework, no extra charges will apply.
EXAM PREPARATIONS
It is important for learners to be thoroughly prepared before completing their summative assessments such as exams and cycle tests. In order to make this possible, SAEPS tutors set CAPS-aligned revision tests and make use of past exam papers to test if learners have reached lesson objectives from the lessons they received, and they are given a chance to revise and correct their papers to make studying for their exams easier and better structured for them.
SMALL CLASSES
As a learner- centred institution, we believe in giving individual attention to each learner to meet their specific and unique academic needs, hence we keep our classes small. Our classes are divided into Grades and further divided into learner specific academic needs and our tutors prepare their lessons in a manner that every learner is accommodated and their needs are met.
WRITING AND SPELLING SKILLS
SAEPS accommodates learners who are struggling to write as well as those who have poor spelling skills. Our tutors are trained to demonstrate patience and understanding in supporting such learners. They are offered with great resources that are aimed at helping learners to improve their writing and spelling skills
EXCURSIONS
SAEPS acknowledges that the school environment should be relatable, fun, learner-friendly and beneficial for their academic and social needs of our learners. We thus capitalize on organizing excursions that speak to those needs. Some terms come with school/field trips at SAEPS.
TRAINED TEAM
One of our strengths as a tutoring service provider is that our tutors receive constant training and are very reflective. We are vision driven and we do everything necessary to satisfy the needs of our clients.
